Hi, I'm Wojciech Bandzerewicz
I make software (usually with AI)
Introduction
Overview.
I lead engineering at Ecograde, an AI home-energy assessment platform launching with UK housing associations, where I set the technical direction with product and lead a cross-functional team of design and qualified energy assessors. I'm hands-on across the stack: TypeScript, React and Next.js, Node, Python and AWS, with five years shipping production software and a master's in Artificial Intelligence from King's College London. I also run Rubber Ducky Labs, my own studio with three React Native apps on the App Store.

Work Experience.
Head of Engineering
Ecograde
- Lead a cross-functional team of a product manager, a designer and qualified energy assessors: set the technical direction and roadmap with product, brief and review design work, and run the assessor validation programme.
- Took the AI home-energy assessment platform from zero to a paid launch with UK housing associations, architecting a Turborepo monorepo (Next.js 15 web app, assessor review app, real-time Convex backend, five shared packages).
- Reached ~90% accuracy on core assessment fields against a ground-truth dataset of ~500 assessor-labelled properties, through an expert validation loop that feeds assessor corrections back into the model.
- Designed the multi-model AI pipeline (parallel vision analysis per photo merged into one EPC-style assessment, schema-validated outputs) and implemented the UK Home Energy Model as a TypeScript package.
- Speaker at EMEX 2026 (London): "Accelerating Retrofit with AI".
Senior Front End Engineer
InstillAI
- Built and maintained responsive front-end applications using Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, deployed seamlessly on Vercel to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Designed intuitive user interfaces with Figma, enhancing user experience and facilitating smooth interactions across web applications.
- Developed a fully-fledged AI assistant that retrieves and processes data from uploaded files, leveraging advanced machine learning techniques to provide accurate and actionable insights.
- Implemented the Artifact feature, enabling users to upload files, automatically chunk them, and efficiently retrieve relevant data, improving data management and accessibility.
